Since time immemorial economy has played a vital role in shaping the development of any country. The journey from brown to blue economy gave rise to the concept of sustainability. Bangladesh showed the potential to adopt Blue Economy to harness its tremendous benefits. This study highlighted how Bangladesh could tap the benefits of a sustainable blue economy for her economic development. The study adopted document analysis. An extensive literature survey was carried out to determine the prospects of Bangladesh for a sustainable blue economy. The study highlighted the issues involved in a sustainable blue economy, its impact and its challenges. It also proffered the strategies to overcome the challenges. The study revealed that systematic means of harnessing ocean resources were relatively new to Bangladesh. The study argued that incorporating Blue Economy's potential policy guideline was essential.
