This paper presents a comprehensive examination of Causes, Consequences, increasing trend of alcoholism & drug addiction and Polices to curb the drug Menace in India. It is also try to discuss the nature of drug, drug use & abuse, Drug addiction& dependence and other related concepts. As we know, India is not merely a transit route for synthetic drugs produced in 'Golden Triangle' and 'Golden Crescent' areas, but it is also fast becoming a potential market of consumers. The researcher also highlights the contributory casual factors and its consequences on physical, psychological, social and economic life of individual, family and the whole society. In the last phase of the paper the researcher also highlights the initiates taken by government of India time to time, to curb the menace of alcoholism and drug addiction in India
