The development of human rights in international law has evolved from a state-oriented focus to one that emphasizes individuals, placing greater importance on the universal nature and enforceability of basic rights beyond borders. This research examines the historical evolution of human rights, following their origins from philosophical, religious, and cultural beliefs to their formal codification within international legal frameworks. It discusses landmark milestones, such as initial declarations, conventions, and treaties that established the foundation for contemporary legal protection.
