Abstract
:

This paper critically explores the ways in which international law empowers women by focusing on the impacts of significant legal instruments like the Beijing Platform for Action, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the International Covenants on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR). It analyzes how these frameworks facilitate women's participation in the political, social, and economic spheres as well as gender equality. In spite of the fact that these instruments have provoked significant legal reform, challenges such as unequal implementation, political resistance, cultural barriers, and the underreporting of gender-based violence remain. Case studies in Rwanda, Côte d'Ivoire, and India reveal both the strengths and weaknesses of translating legal reforms into practical female empowerment in the real world. To ensure that legislative demands lead to tangible improvements in women's lives worldwide, the research calls for stronger enforcement measures, cultural shifts, and targeted initiatives.
